Political Struggle at Wellington.
♦ Wellington, last night. —Mr J. H. Heaton, Mayor of Melrose, has resigned the Commission of the Peace and his seat on the Harbor Board. In a letter to the Post he gives the following reason. — "Thesepositions were gifts from the Hon. Geo. Fisher for political services rendered in the past, and as we are now opposed in political warfare I cannot consistently retain the above."
