The Morning Post, in an article referring to the National Convention in Australia, says the results so far achieved are far greater than might have been expected and that there is no stronger proof of the common interests than the adoption of freetrade between the federated colonies. The Post considers that the initiative in freetrade between the Mother Country and the colonies must be undertaken by the former. BERLIN, Mar. U3. The Emperor's animosity towards Prince Bismarck is increasing, and he avoids the Frederiscksruhe route when visiting Kiel. The German corvette Carola has returned after a cruise of five years abroad, principally on the China station. Her officers were accorded a hearty welcome on their return. It is now asserted that it was the late Emperor William, grandfather of the present Emperor, who assisted Von Boetticher out of hi» financial difficulties, and that the money was taken from the Privy purse and not the Guelph fund.
