[Pun Pukss Association. J DUNEDIN. To-day. Owing to continued indisposition, the Premier has been ordered to Tasmania, and will be absent some months. Mr Mitchelson acts as Premier. INVERCARGILL, To day. All the Invercargill butchers but one advertise disclaiming having purchased two cancerous bullocks at tho sale yards last Tuesday. The exception (S. A. Palmer) writes tothe Daily New admitting having done so, but says only one had cancer and that he boiled itdown for tallowand bonedusl". The other had a slight swelling on the jaw such as bullocks often have. He declares the high price he gave was due to competition, the price starting at 30s. He states that one good bullock was worth the price of both. AUCKLAND, To-day. The Hinemoa, which arrived at Kaipara from a northern cruise, failed to discover any signs of the wreckage of the Countess of Carnarvon. A telegram has been received from the Mayor of Auckland by the Auckland Jubilee Celebration Committee stating that Lord Onslow has accepted the position of patron of the celebration, and that he has arranged that the warships Opal and Lizard, and perhaps Orlando, shall be in Auckland harbor during the festivities. The Union Steamship Company have also agreed to carry passengers from all ports of New Zealand to Auckland for the Jubilee at reduced rates. The Committee hsive began to canvass and are meeting with good success. CHRTSTCHURCH, To-pay. It is stated that one of the Banks here has arranged to pay thetravclling expenses of their clerks to the Exhibition, and provide them with quarters during a visit to Dunedin.
