News from Samoa.

[per s.s. waixii.] I* Auckland, to-day. *^ News is to hand of the death of Queen Charlotte of Tonga suddenly on Sept. 8. She was talking to some of her attendants and suddenly fell back into the arms of one of them and expired. She was buried on the 10th with all regal pomp, thousands of her countrymen attending her funeral. She had been ailing for some time. Reports from Samoa state that although there is considerable difference of opinion as to the necessity of relief a supply of 800 ba^s of rice, sent from Sydney, was very welcome to the natives, and there is a possibility that threat hardship, if not starvation, may take place during the next three months.
