THE ANGLO-AMERICAN PRIZE FIGHT.
BOTH MEN TERRIBLY POUNDED Paris, Dec. 29 The following additional particulars are to hand in connection with the priza fight between Jem Smith,champion of England, and Jake Kilrain, of Amarioa, for tho championship of the world and the New York Police Gazo'te diamond belt, which came off near Itmeu, in tha N.>rth of France, on the morning of the 19th instant. It had been previously announced that the encounter would take place at some spot north of Spain, and the ruse was successful. The two principals nnda few of their backers were able to reach tha rendezvous without attracting the attention of either the British or French police authorities. The fight vraM of a most desperate character, and lasted for 106 rounds, when both combatants were ao severely punished and exhausted that tho referee ordered the combat to cease, and declared it drawn. The whole party, including Kilrain and Smith, were at once driven away from tho place, and the news of the encounter was not allowed to transpire until it was considered that all parties concerned were beyond the reach of the French police.
