THE AUCKLAND MARKETS. Wellington, to-day.
Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following cablegram :— " London, Jan. 20 : Inferior greasy and scoured wools are about equal to the lowest point of the September sales. The market shows no change in other descriptions." Auckland, to-day. Messrs Hunter and Nolan report: — Horses : A good many came forward last Friday and found purchasers, but there was no noteworthy alteration in value. Competition was brisker than in the previous week, and at the conclusion of the sale only a few remained unsold. We quote hacks from £4 10s to £15 ; light harness horses, £5 10s to £12 ; draughts, £18 to £25. I Fat Cattle : There was more animation in the market than in the previous week, and fat stock advanced in value fully 20/---per head, beef ranging from 18/- to 21/---per lOOlbs. Fat Sheep : There was a good number on Tuesday and prices advanced from 1/to2/- each. Lambs were at a low figure, selling at from 5/G to {)/-. Pigs are very short in supply, and there was an upward tendency in value.
