ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. DORIC,

The steamer Doric, forty-nine days from London, arrived on Saturday afternoon. She briugs 42 saloon, 74 second, and 4u4 steerage passengers, of whom 276 are Government immigrants. Nearly all the latter are for Auckland. Three children died during thd p.ta3age, one from convulsions, the second from debility, and the other from consumption. Measles broke out among the immigrants, nine days aftor leaving Plymouth. There have been twenty-five cases, of which seven now exist. At the lawn tennis match, Auckland was represented by Mr. J. M. Dargaville and Mr. A. McDonald, M.H.K.'a, against Duuedia by Mr. A. McNeil and Dr. Batchelor. The match was won by the former. The first set of six games was won by four to two, second set by six to five. The Daily Times Company has declared a dividend of 8 per cent., and the Kaitanyata Railway Company of 10 per cent., carrying forward £3,212.
