This Day

Two little children, about three years old, a boy and a uirl, while strolling on the boach yesierday, were carrie I out into the surf by a wave. Mr. Crossin an, telegnph operator, who observed the ace'dent from the front, of the Court House, ran down and rescued the boy. He then dived into the breakers looking for the girl, and mado two attempts, and was just returning when the girl was seen being brought in by a breaker Constable Pickering wade 1 in and brought her to shore. It whs with great difficulty animation was restored. Tho plucky conduct of Crtssman is much commented upon, particularly as he had only a coat and one boot off when out amongst the heavy breakers.
