NATIVE LANDS FRAUDS PREVENTION ACT.

Sir,— ln clause 11, "Native Latvia Frauds Prevention Act, 1881," the following words appear : "Native lands include all land held by Natives under any title except their customs «r usages." What meaning is put. on the last part of this sentence t Some lawyers have interpreted it in one way and some another. The matter is of importance, and to those who purpose taking deeds to be passed by the Trust Commissioner no time should be lost in sending a test cr.se down to the Supreme Court to put ita ruling thereon. It is the accepted opinion of many that the meaning of the clause under remark, is land that hat never passed the Native Land Court— l am, &<*., One IwTBRBSTrn. I
