Sir, — Your special correspondent at the VVairoa must hare been tampered with. On Saturday last he informs you— " It is rumoured that much dissatisfaction is expressed by the Mahia Natives, at their deeds beinj? brought before tim Trust Commissoner to be passed without their being present to explain." This is quite untrue ; I was at the Mania late on Thursday evening, and heard not one word of the kind ; on the contrary, the details aii-ending the Mahia negotiations were gon« in.o at length, and the various Native speakers reiterated their adherence to the Land Company.
