A man, named Daniel O'Brien, was arrested yesterday on a charge of setting fire to haystacks at Fencouvt, Cambridge. . Thomas Collwick, telegraphist at Whangaroa, attempted to commit suicide with chloral. His state is dangerous. Sabritzky, who was recently fined for his conduct in connection with the wreck of the American whaler at A tvanui, intends to bring an action for £500 against Mr. Ball, J.P., who fined him, for wrongful imprisonment. The Southern Cross arrived from Fiji yesterday.
