Legislative Council.
The House met yesterday at 2.30. The whole afternoon sitting was occupied in answering questions and in discussing the question oft-adopting resolutions passed in Committee of Supply on the previous evening. The House resumed at 7.30, when the resolutions of the Committee of Supply on the pi*evious evening were agreed to. . On the motion of going into Committee, several debates arose, one in respect of Dr. Pollen's pension, which resulted in the matter being referred to the Public Accounts Committee. Another was respecting the including of the Chatham Islands in the Akaroa electoral district, to which Mr. Montgomery objected, but the discussion had no result. Ultimately the House went into Committee of Supply and a number of votes for railway works passed, and the House rose at 1.30.
