The Orangemen demonstration passed off yesterday without disturbance. There was grave apprehensions of a serious riot, as it was known that large quantities of revolvers and cartridges hac been purchased lately. Thomas Bracken, of the " Saturday Advertiser," gained yesterday a verdict for ,£SO damages against George - Barrel 1, the actor, for the brochure published by the latter in Wellington some months ago.
