AUCKLAND.
This Pay. At the Supreme Court yesterday, Sydney Beetham pleaded guilty to burglary, and Frank Fox ton to embezzling monies of the Bank of New South Wales. The sentences are deferred. John Dodd* was sentenced to six years for baastiulity, The Piako Swamp Company have sold the Eureka station of 2000 acres, to B. Sutton, of New South Wales.
This and other sales will be immediately followed by many others, and about 30,000 acres of reclaimed land will be placed before the public in small lots and on fair terms. At the Woodlands Station Company, two of the cattle, suspected to have pleuro-pneumoniaj-were killed on Sunday, and inspected 'by Mr. Naden, veterinary surgeon, and pronounced badly infected. Inspector Runciman has ordered that no cattle should be allowed to cross the Bridge at Hamilton from Waikato country, and will probably declare the whole of that country an infected district.
