[from our own correspondent.] Wellington, This Day. The House met yesterday at 2 30 p. m. Being private members' day, the business was of little public importance. Replying to Mr George, the Premier said the Government would bring down a Bill settling the amount of the honorarium to members of the Legislature, a resolution to that effect having been passed by the House. Replying to Mr Bain, the Premier said he was afraid that the Government would not be able to bring down this session a Bill to suppress indecent performances in theatres and other places of public amusement. Replying to Mr McLean, the Premier said a return would be laid on the table showing the amount paid to each newspaper for advertising and printing for the two years previous to the 30th September last. The Dramatic Works Copyright Bill was read a third time and passed. . The Rating Act Amendment Bill was read a second time. On the motion of Major Te Wheoro, the Native Reserves Bill was ordered to be read that day six months. The Land Transfer Act Amendment Bill was shelved, a motion being carried in committee that the Chairman do leave the Chair. The District Coui'ts Act Amendment Bill was considered in committee, and a new clause added widening the jurisdiction of those Courts in criminal cases. The House rose at 12.30.
