CORRESPONDENCE.

[We do not hold ourselves responsible for opinion expressed by correspondents.] [To the Editor of the Herald.] Sir, — As the matter has assumed publicity, through correspondence m your columns, and as I am m full possession of the facts of the case referred to by "Mercy," I must certainly endorse his strictures to a certain extent. The case he refers to was one m which the Benevolent Society might with great credit to the Committee have at least rendered some further assistance to a poor suffering sister. However, I now learn that some provision is being made for the family, and that Mrs. Attwood will be removed to the Hospital as soon as circumstances will permit. I fail to see any reason why an anonymous correspondent should be stigmatised as acting as cowardly part for bringing a deserving case before the notice of the public and censuring a public body for what he may regard as a dereliction of duty. — I am, &c, F. J. PIESSE.
