CETEWAYO'S CAPTURE AND DESTINATION.
The Natal Mercury has received the following :— Durban," 4th September. — Cetewayo, with four followers, his three wives and one daughter, embarked at noon to-day per Natal. This steamer and H.M.S. Forester go to sea with sealed orders immediately Rusour says that Mauritius is their destination. The King and party went straight to the beach, where asurf-boat was waiting. There was a smooth sea, and no difficulty was experienced m embarking. A telegram from Ulundi states that when Major Marter with a rush surrounded the kraal m which Cetewayo was taking refuge, he called on the King to come out from a hut m which he was hiding. The King refused to do so, but invited his pursuers to enter. This the Major would not permit, and Cetewayo had ultimately to come out. As he did so a soldier ran forward to see him, but the King with dignity waved the man back, and asked, to be killed.
