Capetown, September 6th. SETTLEMENT OF ZULtJLAND. .Ulundi, September Ist. At a meeting of great chiefs heretoday, the anniversary of Cetewayo's coronation six years ago, Sir Garnet Wolseley announced Cetewayo's- deposition, and., bahishinent from Zululand. At the same time the following chiefs were proclaimed independent m , the several^territor^esassigned to them : —Mi-. John' Dunn,' Ungoys, Usibedo, Nuoetsohurj -Somkella, Gonzi, and Sigreo ; and the terms upon which they have accepted the chiefs trainships declared. Oham and other chiefs not. being represented at the meeting, 'will be proclaimed later.' Two British Residents will reside m Zululand, who will bo the eyes of Government. Thechiefs** undertake to . respect the. boundries assigned to them, to abolish the military system, i to allow ;' all: men to marry and work as they desire, toprohibit all importations of arms and importations of goods by sea, to take no life without fair trial, to discountenance witohcr'aft, to surrender fugitive criminals' from British territory, to make no war without the sanction of the Government, to prevent the sale or alienation of land, and m all cases of dispute with; British subjects to arbitration of the Residents.
