[from oor own correspondent.] NEWCASTLE. This Day. The miners at Lambton Colliery, having adopted the vend system, are locked out, the Company procuring men from England. MELBOURNE. This Day. At the sale of stud sheep, prices realised were very low ; only a few merinos were offered. At a caucus meeting to-day, it was resolved to remit Customs duties to the amount of £00,000, and impose that amount in stamp duty. In the evening, in the Assembly, Graham Berry proposed that stamps duty be £70,000, and remit 10 percent, from hardware, and forego duty on drugs, and revise soft goods duties to the extent of £25,000.
