MR. WOODBINE JOHNSON AND HIS FRIENDS.
[To the Editor of the Herald.] Sir,— Mr. Woodbine Johnson distinctly stated m my heaving, and that of others,, that if the majority were against him he would retire from the contest. Mi-. „ Johnson n6w says his friends will not let him retire on any account, which I suppose means that Mr. Johnson's friends are willing that he should be called a man of four letters m this matter. Is this thus ? — I am, &c, An Elector.
