Wellington, This Day, The Opposition on Tuesday night were very much disinclined to grant the adjournment asked for by the Premier, until to-day, but they could not see how to avoid it, and so ultimately it -was agreed to yesterday. There was a rumor that Whitmore, Macandrew, and Thomson had resigned their seats m the Ministry. It created some excitement for a time, but it was soon ascertained to be a false alarm. There is scarcely any doubt but what the prorogation will take place tomorrow. Sir George Grey's financial statement is expected to be brief. The Ggures will not be furnished to the Press as usual, but whether Grey's explanation will be also is uncertain. It is stated here that DeLatour intends to stand again for IMto.unt Ida, and that Ballance will run with 1 ißryce m the liberal interest for Wanganui against Sir William Fox.
