WELLINGTON.
This Day. Captain McKersie, of the Stella, was dismissed because the chemist, charged him with having demanded commission on drugs and medicines supplied to the steamer. He was also charged with appropriating medicines to his own use. Captain McKersie denies the truth of the chargesv The Native members of both Houses have associated for the defence of the Maori prisoners. Dr. Buller has been engaged to get up the case for the defence and Mr. Travers as counsel. Subscriptions iB to be solicited from every tribe.
