NEW PLYMOUTH.
This Day. About 200 U>tives passed through
New Plymouth yesterday morning on their way to Parihaka. The meeting is looked for as one of very great importance ; for matters connected with the ploughing are to be settled. The following are Te Whiti's view 3 on the subject, as stated by one of the Native 3 who visited him : — The ploughing has been a great success, and the pakehas mcd to some purpose. -The Government having beun initiated into advancing him (To Whiti) another step towards his final destinntion. He says " but before all these they shall lay their hands on you, delivering you up to the Synagogue, and into the prison, being brought before Kings and rulers (the Government) for my name's sake. All prisoners must ba sent to Wellington to complete and make plain th« scriptures, niit that i 3 a small matter as a great stride has been taken towards the end. The next step will be a more difficult one, namely, "and they (the Maoris) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive m all nations, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the gentiles until the time of the gentiles bo fulfilled."
