WHAT SHOULD HE DO ?

This comes to us for an answer : — A gentlemen in Gisborne is desirous of settling down into married life. He has been introduced to a family where there are three marriageable daughters. He has fixed his mind on one of theße — the youngest—but he is puzzled how to give expression to his intention. All these girls sit in the same room when he enters it. All receive him with the Bame cordial welcome. When he proposes to take the lady of his choice to a dance, or a concert, all three exclaim " how delightful I" The mamma of the three also says how pleasant and agreeable it will be. So the young gentleman, whose means might allow of his taking one, will hot allow of his taking the three. The gentleman thinks the mamma is anxious to get the eldest daughter off her hands, probably thinking if she does not go off first, there is a possibility she may not go off at all. The gentleman cannot get an opportunity to speak with the young lady of his choice. He cannot marry the three without committing a breach of the law ; and were this even allowable, he could not afford the expense. The three sisters are never apart at home. The mother is invariably present, and the question is what shall the gentleman do ?

Will some of our fair correspondents who replied to the question "What shall she do ?" which lately appeared in the columns of Herald, advise what the gentleman should do under the circumstances here-detailed.
