April 4. In this evening's Gazette a despatch is published addressed to the London Agent of the Cape Colony, dated March 14th, announcing that messengers from Cetawayo had arrived, asking for a suspension of hostilities, and resumption of negotiations, and stating that Cetawayo never intended fighting, only m consequence of the British attack. Nyungai has returned to Burmah, disguised as a- chief. The Commissioner of British Burmah sent him back to Calcutta. Cambridge won the University boat race easily.
