CHRISTCHURCH.

Tins Day. Shorthy after three o'clock this morning, Messrs Langdon and Co.'s saw mills, and Gillespie and Co.'s chickory and coffee works, between St. Asapli High Street, were burnt down to the ground. Gillespie and Co. had £1,200 worth of stock on the premises the whole of which were destroyed ; also some machinery. Langdon and Co., have two lots of machinery burnt and a great quantity of timber destroyed. Insured for £1000 in tho New Zealand office, part of which is re-insured in the North British.
