This Day. In the Handicap Hurdle Race, the betting was 6 to 4 against Grey Momus ; 2 to 1 against Tauiatea ; 3 to 1 against Wanganui and Roebuck ; o tol against Skysail The flag fell to an indifferent start, Wanganui being left at the post. Exprens led, followed by Roebuck, Wanganui fast making up his lost ground with Skysail whipping m. Wanganui led past the stand first time round, with Tamatea close up, the others following m Indian file. At the back of the course Tamatea went up to Wanganui, and passed him m the straight and won rather easily by two lengths, Express third. In the Hawke's Bay Plate, Vallance's Merlin had a walk over. In the Provincial Produce Stakes, the betting was G to 4 against Hailstorm ; 2 to 1 against Kaokaoroa ; 4 to 1 against Hero and Camelia. Hailstorm made the running, followed by Camelia, Hero third. This position was maintained for a quarter of a mile, Kaokaoroa then took the running, but was soon passed by Camelia and Hailstorm, who raced together into the straight. Hero who had been waiting his time, here came with a rush, and passing the two leaders, winning by a length, Hailstorm a good third. Tradesman's Handicap, £100, 1^ Miles. Allen's Lalla Kookh 1 Knight's Lara 2 Fanner's Lady Elizabeth 3 Betting even on Lara ; 6 to 4 against Lady Elizabeth ; 2 to 1 against Merlin ; 3 to 1 against Lalla Rookh ; 5 to 1 against West End and Joe Leonard ; 30 to 20 against Lady Ellen and Merlin coupled. Joe Leonard jumped off with the lead, followed by Lara. Lady Ellen then went up, but soon fell back. Lalla Rookh, who had been improving her position, then raced up alongside Lara, and passed her m the straight, and won pretty easily by a length.

Selling Race, £30, 1£ Miles.

Burnand's West End 1 Knight's Ika 2 Conroy's Ben Nevis 3 West End won easily by 10 lengths. Consolation Handicap, 30 soys, Kelly's Joe Leonard 1 Tomoana's Never Miss 2 M'lvor's Loch Lomond 3 Won by a length.
