DUNEDIN.
March 4. Creswick the celebrated tragedian, opened at tho Princess' last night. A lad named Fairhorn was killed at Taierai on Friday last by being drawn into a machine working on a farm. The Kaitangata inquest was continued yesterday. Thomas Knowles, Charles Sampson, a director of the Green Island. Coal Company ; James Davidson, general manager of the mine ; and Parkins, secretary, were examined. The chief facts elicited were that with proper precaution the accident might have been averted. The enquiry was further adjourned till Monday next.
