March 4. The result of the Taupo enquiry was that m the opinion of the Board, the accident was caused by careless na\ igation on the part of the master, Captain Cromarty, whose certificate was suspended for three months, and who was ordered to pay the costs of enquiry. The certificates of the other officers were returned.
