London, January 6. Turkey has consented to surrender Pologeritza and Montenegro. The appointment of Pope Hennessy to the Governorship is not confirmed. The Government have arranged with the Catholic Bishops of Ireland a scheme for University education. A secret manifesto has been published at St. Petersburg, urging Young Russia to destroy the present tyrannical Yoke plot. A plot to assassinate the Prince of Servia haa been discovered. London, January 7. The Pope appeals to the German Bishops to inculcate the duty to obedience of the laws of the land. He also directs Bishops and Clergymen to pray for the welfare of all secular powers, including temporal sovereigns. Another intended assassination of a European sovereign has been discovered, a plot to murder Prince Servia having been detected. Bombay, January 6. General Hill,- has for the present, stopped all traffic through Khyber Pass. Four of the Ameer's regiments deserted his standard. Three-fourths of General Biddulph's division have taken up a position on the plain of Candahar, and there is a general advance of British troops on Candahar. One of the 81-ton guns on board M.M.S. Turret ship Thunderer, exploded, destroying turret, killing 7 men, and wounding forty.
