OPPERMAN’S 1000 MILE RIDE
ANOTHER RECORD BROKEN. T J lie Australian cyclist, Hubert Opperman, after resting at John o’ Grouts', continued in an attempt on the thousand mile record. He encountered heavy fogs and was buffeted throughout the night. Eventually he covered 3000 miles in -1135 minutes, reducing the record by 9 hours 43 minutes.
