WAVERLEY
A. AND P. ASSOCIATION’S LAMB COMPETITION. RESULTS OF LONDON JUDGING. The Loudon awards in connection with the Waverley A. and P. Association’s fat lamb competition have been received by cable in Hawera by the Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., through its London agents, Hayes, Paine, and Knowldon. The comment that the lambs were an exceptionally fine display was included in the cable and the information given that the whole parcel sold for 7kl a lb. This price is ;]d to Id over the current rate for ordinary lamb, and must be considered highly satisfactory. The London placings arc as follows: —
Pen No. 21, F. Ell (Waverley) 1. Pen No. 33, lan Parsons (Waverley) 2 Pen No. 1, H. G. Birch (Maxwell), 3. Pen No. 36, S. T. Snushall (Wavcrloy), 4. The awards made at Waverley by Mr. K. Heighten, Marton, arc: — Pen No. 47, A. A. Vcrry (Waverley) 1 Pen No. 25, G. Lupton (Waverley) 2 Pen. No. 29, F. R. McWilliams (Wavcrloy) 3.
Pen No. 28, T. Lupton (Waverley) 4. It was acknowledged at the time that the lambs were an exceptionally even lot, and Mr. Dcighton experienced considerable difficulty in separating a number of pens.
