PATEA TOWN HALL TALKIES

TO-NIGHT —‘ • HKill GOCiLTY BLUES." Ja not (Gaynor and Charles Farrell, favourite sweethearts of the audible screen, are again united in “High Society Blues," Fox Movietone musical romance, now showing at the Town Hall. It is a delightful love story of a wealthy society debutante and the “hoy next door" who had plenty of money but lacked a social background. Uivo song hits written by Joseph McCarthy and J,ames Hanley add tunefulness to the production, which was directed by David Butler. ‘ ‘ IWOM EN 1C VFB Y WIIEBE.» ’ Those who like Jove, adventure, and melody in their talking picture fare will lind more than their share of enjoyment at the Town Hall, where “Women Everywhere," the Fox Movietone musical romance of French Morocco mid the Foreign Legion is to be shown to-morrow. J. Harold Murray, who plays the leading role of “Charlie Jackson," the Yankee sea captain, who runs foul of the French authorities when he attempts to run a load of guns to the rebellious Arabs, gives the best portrayal of his screen career and sings with a gusto and fervour typical of: his role. Fid Dorsay is asi charming as ever as “Lili LaFlcur," the music hall song and danco artist who saves Murray from a disgraceful death, showing him that there are many tilings to make life worth while living. George Grossmith is another member of the cast who deserves a lot of credit. Other members of the cast who handle their parts well are Clyde Cook, Bose Dione, and Bulph Kellard.
