Mr W H Bennett manager of the newly formed Wellington Waterside Employment Association who his been spending a few days in Patea left for Wellington by the mail train oo Saturday. Rumour hath'it that Brigadier-Gen-eral Davies, at present commanding the 3rd Infaatry Brigade at Aldershot, will return to the Dominion hefore the 1 end of the present year. It is also stated with a good deal of reserve that j the term of engagement of Sir Alexander i Godley expires during this year of grace I aud that the projected reappearance of I the little man from Aldershot is 1 therefore significant (says the Auc'ilan d r Observer).
