CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR Fir, —Mr Adams cannot clear himself of blame in connection with the wharfletting which was a loss to the Board of at least £’2oo. Neither can ho clear himself of blame in meddling' with Maco and Bassett’s section (without the sanction of Council), which caused the expenditure of £GS to prevent a law suit. I admit Mr Adams was hoodwinl-ed by another person in the halier affair. I think his pitiable twaddle about engineer’s estimates ami contractor’s losses cannot bo accepted by a single reader above tin- mental capacity of a born-fool. When men sot themselves up as orraclos of perfection, they may expect oven brain-contortion members to have a shot at them.—l am, &c., I’lx Member of Board.
