(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.). WELLINGTON, This day. Weather forecast for 24 hours from 9 n.ra. to-day :—Wind —between northeast and south-east in both islands. Barometer—further rise generally, but falling at all places south of Lyttelton after 16 hours, and later at all other places. Sea—moderate on both coasts. Synopsis of last forty-eight hours : Northward »of Napier and New Plymouth the barometer has continued to rise steadily, but everywhere else it fell slowly until midnight on Saturday, and since then it h*ie risen about three tenths. Strong northerly winds were experienced at most places south of Napier and New Plymouth, until late on Saturday and Sunday there was a fresh southerly gale on the Coast between Lyttelton and the Easi Cape. Rain has, fallen at most places south of Napier and New Plymouth.
