CHASED. BY A SHARK, [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 4. Two men, while bathing at New Brighton Beach yesterday, were chased by a shark, but managed to escape, and the shark, getting stranded on the beach, was captured and taken to town. The Government have accepted the service of Christ’s College Rifle Corps. The child Ada Whitlow, who wandered from her home at Woodeful on Tuesday last, was found in the Sandhills by two boys at mid-day on Saturday in a very weak and delirious condition. She had had no food. Largo search parties had vainly sought for her every- day. .She is now recovering.
