MESSRS R. H. NOLAN AND GO’S MONTHLY REPORT. At our Manaia yards on the IGlh-inst. there was a full muster of cattle. Nearly every pen was sold at the hammer, bidding throughout being unusually brisk, but prices realised were mostly in favour of buyers. Cattle.—sßo head sold. We quote yearlings from £1 12s 6d to £2; 18-months-old mixed, £2 5s to £2 10s ; 18-xnonths-old steers, £2 17s to £8 2s ; 2£-years old steers, £4 ; 3-year-old steers, • £4 15s ; 18-rnonths-old heifers, £2 10s ; store cows, £3 3s to £3 8s; cows and calves, £3 15s 6d to £4 12s. Horocs, —jSToue soTd. At the Hawera yards on the 23rd inst., the number advertised came forward, and at the hammer were slow of sale, four pens only being sold until afterwards, the balance then moving off at a figure slightly lower than our previous sale. Wo quote yearlings £2 3s to £2‘7s6d ; 2-year-old heifers, £3 7s 6d ; cows with few calves, £3 3s ; steers, £3 16s to £4 los ; fat heifers, £4 10s. Sheep.—2oo sold. Fat wethers, shorn, 10s 6d ; fat ewes, 10s, Horses. —We sold a few hacks varying from £4 to £7 10s ; light harness, £l2. LONDON WOOL SALES. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report under date 25th instant“ The wool market—The sales comprise about 96,000 bales. Up to date - 30,0 -0 bales have been sold and 2800 bales withdrawn. The Home and German demand is good, but from other quarters it is poor: The following descriptions of wool have declined £d to Id per lb.,namely scoured short staple merino, coarse greasy crossbred, coarse washed crossbred, coarse scoured crossbred. The market remains unchanged for superior greasy and greasy wools, and is firmer for fine crossbred.”
