WANGANUI WESLEYAN DISTRICT MEETING.

The Secretary's report of the conuexional properly showed the debts on the property to be as follows :—Wanganui, L 732 6s 3d ; New Plymouth, LT3O ; Patea, L 482 ; Mnrton, L4BO ; Palmerston North, LIOO ; Waitara, L 290 ; Sandon, LB2 ; total, L 2596 6s 3d. The following new erections and improvements were reported :—Waitara —Enlargement of church, cost L 270, debt L 150; Hairangi, gift half an acre, value LlO ; Waitara Church debt reduced by L7O ; Paten, new organ, cost L 46, no debt ; Piharaa, one acre Ll6 ss, no debt ; Patea, debt reduced by, LSO; Rangitikei parsonage improvement, L4O. The Waitara Circuit has permission to purchase or erect a i parsonage., Palmerston North has permission to erect new church, to cost LSOO, and to seat 400. The conference sanctioned the sale of two sections adjoining the church in Wanganui : also the leasing of sections in New Plymouth and Hawera, t The financial statement showed: Income L6O 5s lOd, expenses L2B 9s, balance in hand LSI 1 Is. Home. Mission income, Jj 161 4s lid'contributed by circuit; LIBB from sundry mission { roperty. The circuits were assessed at the amount of L 384 for 1883, and mission property rents ■were-estimated at.'L2lß. Grants were recommended to the conference to be paid as follows :—Waitara,- LlO ; Patea, L3O; Opunake, L 35. Waitara, for furniture, L 25 ; Patea for furniture L 25 Waitara towards arrears iof stipend. 188.1, . Lls. L3O towards the foreign mission has been raised. Palmerston North was reported as due to take a married manj but made a request to be relieved another year, which was granted on conditiori of paying L2o■ additional towards the Home mission fund.. The statistical return shows members 428, communicants 278, Sunday School scholars 1671, and attendants at Wesleyan services 4310. Mr Williams was elected as representative at the Conference. The meeting then closed.
