Patea Stock Sales.

MR W. COWERN’S REPORT. I submitted to auction at my Lincolnstreet sale-yards to-day, 1523 sheep on account of John Burke, Esq., of Kakararaea. Fine weather prevailed, and the attendance was large. The prices realised are as follow :—Breeding ewes (4 and 6tooth), 12s a head ; hoggett ewes (2-tooth), 14s a head ; wethers (2 and 4-tootb), lls 6d a bead ; lambs, 6s a head ; 3 pure-bred Lincoln rams (4-tooth), 26s a head. MR C. F. BARKER’S REPORT. Mr C. F. Barker reports having had a large attendance and keen competition for sheep at his sale in the Patea yards on Wednesday, the 15th instant. Prices realised as under :

Cattle. —50 3-year-old steers, £4 17s fid ; 15 3-year-old steers, £4 12a fid ; old cows, £2 16s. Sheep. —ls4 Napier wethers, lls 7d ; 138 cross-bred wethers, lls lOd ; 204 ewes, 8s 3d ; 254 Napier ewes, 9s 6d ; lambs, 4s 4d. Horses dull of sale. All were passed in.

CANTERBURY STOCK MARKET. (From the Canterbury Times.')

At the Addington Yards on the Bth, there was a large entry of stock yarded. There was a good attendance of buyers, and biddings were spirited throughout the sales for most descriptions. Sheep. —Only a small proportion of fat sorts was yarded, for which description there was keen competition. Best crossbreds realised from 13s to 14s ; good do, from 10s to 11s 9d ; prime merino wethers, 9s. We quote 2d per lb as an average for mutton. Only a small supply of lambs was to hand. Prices equal to late sales were fairly maintained. In store sheep there was a large supply of both cross-brede and merinos. Full mouthed cross-bred ewes sold from 7s to 8s 6d ; two-tooth merinos (small), 6s ; full and broken mouthed, at 5s 8d to 6s 9d ; full-mouthed merino wethers, 6s 6d to 6s Bd.

Cattle.— A small supply of fat cattle came to hand, and all were sold at an advance on late rates. AVe quote 20s per 1001b as an average for beef. Store cattle found buyers at prices fully equal to late quotations.
