NAZI FUEL SHORTAGE. United Press Assn —By Elect! ic Telegru ph—Copyright LONDON. January 3. German resistance to the Russian drive on Nalchik is collapsing. Street fighting is going on in one of three villages forming a powerful German strongpoint south-east of Nalchik, says the Moscow radio. It Ss reported from Stockholm that the German failure to capture* the Caucasian oilfields has led to a serious fuel situation in Germany, where the mass conversion of farm machinery and lorries to producer gas is going on. The Germans have forced Hungary to hand over 500.000 gallons of fuel reserve during the summer.
