Ihe Morocco radio says a French headquarters’ communique stated that the enemy south-eastwards ot Pont du halls attacked in force but tiio attacks were repulsed -after fierce fighting. Counter-attacks compelled the enemy to retreat to Kairwan. Amercan planes and anti-tank forces participated in the operations. A communique from General le ( 'lerc’s headquarters in Africa states: Our motorised forces have reached several hundred miles from Chad on the Libyan frontier, and are continuing to advance. Our aircraft have raided enemy posts. Allied air attacks in North Africa yesterday were concentrated on enemy supply lines at Tunis, states a correspondent at Allied Headquarters Marauders bombed the railway yards and started a fire, and later Fortresses successfully attacked the harbour installations. The enemy made three attempts to bomb Bona harbour but two wer© intercepted.
