FEATURE OF LIBYAN CAMPAIGN United Press Assn. By Electric T< •legr aj: 3. —Co iiv rxg lit. SYDNEY. June 23. A warning against undue pessimism concerning the fail of Tobruk was given bv General Sir Thomas Blarney today. “I agree that the news can become grave at any time in tin* future. but the present Libyan campaign is not perhaps as significant as most people think,” he said. He recalled how the British and Australian forces advanced to Benghazi and then came back bow the Axis forces had driven inside the Egyptian border and then gone back into the desert again For two years it had been a wa r of movement backward and forward. For this reason there was no need at this stage to draw absolutely pessimistic conclusions from the dav-by-day turn of events.
