BATTLE FOR EGYPT
ZERO HOUR ARRIVED. United Press Assn.--By Electric Telegraph—Copyrigh fc. LONDON, Juen 23. Zero hour has arrived in the battle for Egypt. A late message from the Daily Express’ Cairo correspondent states that a strong Germ am column of tanks and all other arms is moving towards Fort Capuzzo. The correspondent adds that some of the Tobruk garrison are still fighting on. The central resistance is Palestrina, fivo miles from th© town, where the South Africans are holding Italian forts and have resisted repeated attacks from German troops ana Stukas. A Zurich message from Berlin states that military experts say that the 88-millimetre gun conquered Tobruk. It quickly destroyed twelve fortifications in the outer defence line making it possible to drive n wedge about three miles wide. All experts agree Rommel has an enormous number of these guns and complete superiority of war material.
