S><s■’S'♦♦<?><^^><s>'^^\^'<s•<s• <?>♦♦<!><;;'<?><?>♦♦<!>•^^'^♦♦<J><®>^<S>^^<J><?'<£> -•• “Waste Not Want Not!” DI KING the latter part of 1933 and the early months of 1939, and direct!v as the result of the signing of a trade agreement between the New Zealand Government and the German Government, a number of OPEL Cars (the product of Germany’s most successful motor ear manufacturer) were imported for sale in New Zealand. c These cars were originally sold at a retail price of £330, a number hare been re-exported to the Far East, Java and other territories in the Dutch East Indies. However a large number still remain in bond at Wellington. Due to War Regulations, payment for the balance of the Ope! material still on hand is made not to the German supplier, hut to the New Zealand Government Custodian of Enemv Property. It has been decided therefore that the remaining stocks should be built and sold in New Zealand at bargain prices. The purchaser will secure a good Motor Car at a very low price. Payment of the parts imported—engine, chassis, etc.,—is made to the N.Z. Government Custodian of Enemy Propeitv in Wellington. Customs Duty is paid to the N.Z. Government (if is not paid if the cars are shipped out of N Z.). Approximately £4O will be spent on New Zealand labour and other expenses to build each car. Valuable and useful material which might otherwise he wasted or shipped out of the country is put to productive use here in New Zealand. Due to War conditions, high freight rates, import regulations, foreign exchange fluctuations, and other unusual and disturbing factors, there is going to be a scarcity of New Motor Gars. Those now on the market have risen substantially in price and still further price rises are apparent. Flowever while they last we are able to offer OPEL CARS at the unusually low price of O EACH Delivered at Pahiatua.
