DAIRY COMPANY AMALGAMATION
FURTHER DISCUSSION. (Correspondence is welcomed on interesting subjects, but we do not ■lecessuriiy endorse the opinions of correspondents; (To the Editor! Sir, —In your issue of the I6th I noticed a most extraordinary letter signed “Also Financially Interest-, ed.” From such an egotistical cor 1 respondent one would hare expect-" ed at least some originality in the selection of a nom-de-plume. It is regrettable that this correspondent should be so stifled with bias, as to attack the balance-sheet* of a company and assert that it does not oisclose the true position of the operations of that company; and its pay-out. I think, sir, that your reader* will take this suggestion at its value, and continue to wonder re-» garding the mentality that ooul<| dictate such an effusion. The suggestion to transfer all thf cream of the district was naturally to send it to the factory where i* would yield the best return. It im generally admitted that the Pahiatu* factory has all the advantages claUß* ed for it. Does your correspondent suggest* when he claims that the Pahiatua company has no road haulage, that the cream drops from the skies or what? “A.F.1.” has a lot to say about ignorance, and appears to be an authority on that question. ‘ Financially Interested'* may not have inherited the intellectual abilities or yet attained to the educational standard of “A.F.1.,” but he does claim to know the difference between sense and nonsense, and between Is and Is 4£d. Abuse is a poor argument and evidence of a very weak case.—l am, etc., “FINANCIALLY INTERESTED. ’ Pahiatua, September 18, 1939. “Pip Pip” (Pahiatua?. —It is regretted that your letter on the above subject contains too many personal references to make its publication advisable.—Ed.
