U.S.A. EXPORTS SOAR
Exporters in New York reported the heaviest advance ouying for two years by customers abroad in the n iddle of last month, allegedly as a precaution •rv measure against possible European difficulties in the spring. It is understood that orders are as in icli as from 25 to 50 per cent, over last year’s, notably for machinery. motor-car accessories, tools, pharmaceuticals, and other so-called inventory goods. The orders are emanating chiefly from Latin-America, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the Far East, in the case. ( ,f Europe, however, orders are slightly below last year s.
