WIN FOR AUCKLAND BOAT. Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, Last Night. The first race for the world 18footer sailing championship was held on Waiteniata harbour this afternoon and resulted in a sensational win for the M class boat Manu (Richmond Cruising Club), which defeated the V class boat Jeanette (Ponsonby Cruising Club) by a narrow margin of seven seconds. The Jeanette led in both rounds of the course and was about to cross the finishing line ‘when the Manu, handled very smartly by the skipper. G.
