JUVENILE DRUIDS

THE FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. A.D. Bro. Veale presided over a good attendance at the fortnightly meeting of the above Lodge, held on Friday, February 10th. in the Masonic Hall, Sedcole Street. Til*) Bard reported a clear sick list. Accounts amounting to 2s were passed for payment. A challenge to a game of cricket was received front Palmerston North Juvenile Lodge. This was accepted, to be played on Saturday. Arranging of a team was left in the hands of Bros. Levy and Pratt. Players and members attending are tequested to bring two cups and a plate of refreshments. Tea, milk and sugar will be provided. The resignation of Sis. Barrett from the office of secretary was read with regret by the Superintendent, who said that her services would be officially recognised at some future Lodge night. Bro. Stanley was nominated and duly elected, there being no other nominations

The District President, Bro. Bidder, then duly installed Bro. Stanley (secretary), Sis. Pratt (treasurer) and Sis. Brabner (minute secretary) to their respective offices and congratulated the Lodge in being so fortunate in getting capable members to come forward and fill these important offices. Copies of the Arch Druids’ ritual charge were given out to those taking part m the competition on Saturday, March 4tli. The Superintendent is giving two prizes, one for sisters and one for brothers, and by the number taking part the judges (two Past Arch Druids of the senior Lodge, who have kindly consented to act) will have their work cut out to decide, some of the members studying it before they left the hall. A letter was received from the Grand President (Bro. Williams, of Wellington), whose son is a member of the Pahiatua Lodge, conveying kind regards and fraternal greetings. This was very much appreciated, coming from the Grand President, and showing a kindly interest in d istant j uveniles.
