WEEK-END BOWLING
PAHIATUA WIN LUONI TIN HAT
The first annual tournament of the Returned Soldiers' Association (Manawatu district) for the Luoni Tin Hat was played on the Terrace End green over the week-end and resulted in a win for Pahiatua* The team, consisting of A. J. Goer, V. J. Scott, R. Davey and P. A. Bisset (skip), had five wins out of six The two remaining rinks also played excellent bowls, scores being as follows:
I*. A. Bisset’s rink : Won 13—3, won 10—4, won 16—7, lost B—lo, won 20—8, won 12—6 ; five wins, one loss, aggregate points 79. S. Macrae. C. McCardle, F. Britland, R. Pilkinton (skip) : Won 15—3, won 9—4, won 11—5, won 9—7. lost 5—7, lost 5—7 ; four wins, 2 losses, aggregate points 54. W. Bowden, R. Carlyon, J. MurI hv, V. Boyens (skip): Won 7—5, won 22—4, won 10—7, drew 7—7, lost 5—12, lost B—9 ; three wins, 1 drawn, two losses, aggregate points 59. Each of the winning team received a miniature of the tin hat. Further results in the club competition games are the following: Intermediate handicap: Davey 17, beat Badger 14; Arrow 30, beat Badger 14; Badger 19, beat Sedcole 18.
